A few years ago, I was hired to work with the senior team of two major hospitals that merged. I thought, this is it, I finally "made it!" But where did I make it??? I was overworked, underpaid and filled with anxiety, stress, and self-doubt. I questioned ever leaving my previous job to finally have that feeling of "making it". If "making it" meant feeling burnt out, less family time and living paycheck to paycheck then count me out!
I had to make a decision about my future. This is when I first became aware of my need for a creative outlet, that should have been realized decades ago. My inner "artist" was starved and screaming for attention, but the chaos of life made it impossible to recognize her, let alone hear her.
